Why does Coke fizz when you put Twizzlers in it?!

Question:

Why does Coke fizz when you put Twizzlers in it?

Is it the same concept as the Diet Coke/Mentos thing? I found this out disastrously at work today when I, while using a Twizzler as a straw, noticed that there was considerable fizz in the Coke. I then put two more Twizzlers in and it gushed up and I lost about half of my Coke. So yeah, what's going on?

Answers:
It's to do with the sugar content in Coke.
Drop a spoonful of sugar into it and watch it erupt.

the chemical reaction is the same as say viniger and baking soda.
it also works with m&ms and menots perfectly friut

its a chemical reaction.. try a Mentos...talk about a fizz...man itll go everywhere. we used to make 20 oz coke bomb when i was in the army, in summer camp.(National Guard), we also used mre heaters to..but anyway, its a chemical reaction with the citrus acid.
