"All tea comes from one plant, Camellia sinensis. The differences in the many teas... whites, greens, oolongs, blacks, and pu-erhs -- is in the specific varietal that was used, the local environment the tea was grown in, and the way it was processed."

Green tea is also good for fighting many different types of cancers.

it is tea leaves that have only been dried and not fermented like the darker teas have!

it's detoxifying and anti cancer because of the high anti oxidants it contains! Infact a study was done in japan and just 1-2 cups of green tea a day is meant to be enough to prevent or drastically reduce the chances of getting lung cancer amongst others!

Tea leaves that have been picked and dried, then roasted. There are different green teas and the processing differs in each, but the theme common to all is that there is little or no fermentation of the tea leaves, so it retains the nutrients of the leaves and has very low levels of caffeine. It is also much milder than oolong (next level of fermentation) and balck (highest level of fermentation).

Green tea is best as loose leaf, steeped for 2-4 minutes in water that is not quite boiling. An intro green tea is Jasmine pearls or some flavored teas like tropical or berry green teas.

There are some wrong answers on this one... Green tea can be from any where in the world (not necessarily China). The only difference is that green tea, in opposed to black tea (normal tea), is not roasted. So both green and black tea are tea leafs from the tea plant, the only difference is that black tea is produced by roasting thees leafs while green tea consists of non roasted leafs.

Because of this green tea often tastes like hey, but it also contains more antioxidants and therefore it is healthier.

Then there is white tea, which is the same tea leafs but these are plucked at a very specific time of their development.

The red tea on the other hand is not really tea, since the leafs are from a different plant (called rooibos) than the tea plant. The red tea contains most antioxidants of all teas, and it′s the only one that′s naturally decaf.

tea that's supposed to be healthier than herbal
