Does milk help u sleep better? and if so does the temperature matter?!

Question:

Does milk help u sleep better? and if so does the temperature matter?

Answers:
Since avoiding milk and all forms of dairy products I've felt and slept much better.

Humans are the only animal that drinks milk past infancy, and then it's not even from the correct species! Too many people are still trying to defend milk's supposed health benefits. Unfortunately, they are either using old information or information obtained from research funded by the dairy association. How many people would enjoy a glass of dog's milk or rat's milk? What makes cows special?

There are only two reasons which I've found to support humans drinking cow's milk. We have grown up hearing that it's good for us and we've grown accustomed to the taste and texture. There is absolutely no nutrition that can not be obtained elsewhere, minus the negatives. Calcium seems to be the major claim for milk. It can be found elsewhere in green vegetables, almonds, and many other sources. Where do you think the cows obtain the calcium to put into the milk? Where do other larger animals (elephants, horses, deer, whales, etc) get calcium? Why we continue to drink cow's milk laced with growth hormones, antibiotics, and who knows what else is beyond me.

Since I've given up drinking milk about 5 years ago my health has greatly improved. I suffer fewer allergy problems, asthma and breathing problems are greatly reduced, I'm sleeping better, and I have more energy.

In the '50s smoking was considered harmless but now we realize its dangers. One person at a time and eventually the truth will become widely known that cow's milk is only for baby cows. Milk is indeed the perfect food, but only for infants of the proper species.

Do some research online and decide for yourself.

A warm glass of milk is what you always hear. "does a body good" - having a full belly of milk may not be everyones thing but for some its the stuff. I prefer a cold one with some oreos.

I've always heard that a warm glass of milk before bed does help you sleep better.

I've read that drinking plain milk a little before bed does help.Temperature whys I don't know.It might just be what you prefer.

Milk, I have no comment about, but the temperature shouldn't matter. Once it's in your belly, it's ultimate temperature should be about 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

i never really thought of taking milk if i have problem sleeping but i would think a warm glass of milk would help

Yes. Milk helps you sleep better, but only if it is heated. It also helps to put hot chocolate mix in it ( for taste! :) )

Insomnia treatment using Milk
Milk is very valuable in insomnia. A glass of milk, sweetened with honey, should be taken every night before going to bed in treating this condition. It acts as a tonic and a tranquilliser. Massaging the milk over the soles of the feet has also been found effective.
There are some other helpful hints .

I don't think it does it may just be a myth we associate it with being a child and making them go to sleep so when we are older and don't feel well our moms or someone may say baby let me get you some warm milk it will make you feel better and it is just them making us feel better cuz think about it if milk made us go to sleep they would make us eat cereal in the a.m. with water even though it is nice to go to sleep after you wake up it just isn't what happens lol ~think about it

Sometimes when I can't sleep I get up and drink about 4-oz of cold milk. It helps me.

Mix some catnip with chamomile and peppermint tea and this will help. Do not use more than 2 tsp. of catnip. Add honey. Purr meow purr..

I just read an article last night on yahoo that said warm milk w/a little honey is good for you, so are bananas, flaxseeds, oatmeal. Try to find the article.
