Are English sweets and drinks sweeter than those in America?!

Question:

Are English sweets and drinks sweeter than those in America?

Im from England and never been to the U.S,but on the Simpsons-bart and lisa go crazy after eating sweets in London,so im curious to know!

Answers:
I am a former chef and have travelled to both the UK and US, I live in and was raised in Canada, in the UK like here in Canada we use sugar, in the US soft drinks are sweetened with Corn Syrup, sugar is rarely used, there candy and chocolate is more milky and lesser quality than those standards the EU now requires for chocolate in Europe.

Here in Canada we have most all of the UK's Cadbury brands, and alot of other things, tea, cereals, drinks and other product. The one thing is Heinz brand prducts here are not the same as in Europe, even in the US. Beans here are sweeter and have less sauce, not one's with sausages or Jalfez style infortunatly, you would be happier with the food in Canada, not as sugary (sweet), fatty or greasy here.

I think English sweets must be better - My parents bought me back some Hershy bars from America (I was dying to try one as everyone in America seems to eat Hershy bars on the telly) when I tried it it was DISGUSTING!!!! However, Americas Reeses Peanut cupcake things are DELICIOUS and I could eat these forever!!!!!
But apart from the Peanut cupcake things I think English sweets are best!!!

Dont know about the drinks though

Yes they are but not by much. They put a lot of sugar in their drinks

Im from America and have never been to England, and don't know nuthin' bout UK candy, however, there is also a Simpsons episode where Bart and Milhouse go on a candy binge in America and go crazy too. Either way about the hershy bars etc. they are not even made from real chocolate! It is wax mostly. In the 70's, candy companies announced there was a sugar shortage in order to raise prices, and then got greedy from there and totally screwed candy forever. You have to pay good $ for real chocolate candy here. P.S. they are called Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and hell yea, they're delicious!
