Answers:
Yes but by prescription only.Antibuse Not sure it is spelled correctly. I would suggest that you do not try anything without him seeing his Dr.Maybe AA would help or a rehab.

Antabuse is a pill that reacts quite violently with alcohol. It's prescription medicine and anyone who takes it has to be really careful with it. Taking a dose of Nyquil will make you ill if you're taking it. Having an alcohol rub down can also make you sick.

Yes, that pill is called Antabuse (Disulfiram).

Alcoholic drinks (Ethanol) are degraded into acetaldehyde, and then into acetate. To convert acetaldehyde into acetate, an enzyme called acetaldehyde dehydrogenase is needed in this reaction. When we drink too much, our body's supply of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase can't cope with the increased alcohol and acetaldehyde content in the body, which leads to the hangover symptoms.

Disulfiram acts by inhibiting this enzyme (acetaldehyde dehydrogenase), leading to an accumulation of acetaldehyde in the body, and this accumulation contributes to the hangover symptoms.

When an alcoholic takes this pill on a regimen, everytime he drinks alcohol, he will experience the unpleasant symptoms of the hangover since he accumulates acetaldehyde, which will more likely prevent him from wanting to drink alcohol again.
