Question:

Are Mate de Coca teabags(tea made from Coca leaves) legal in the UK?

Mate de Coca is tea made from the leaves of the Coca plant. Its legal in most of South America, but is it here in the UK?

Answers:
Check with British Customs and Excise, because if your flight from South America comes thought the US and you have to recheck or go through Customs there and they find it in your baggage, plan on a 2-5 year visit to one of there prisons, and they are not all like Halloway.

It is illegal to possess the product in most countrys, here in Canada we do not have that problem, but if visiting Columbia, Peru, Ecuador were this tea is popular just make sure it is in your checked baggage if you not sure. But check first for British custom rule, they would just confiscate it, there is not enough of the essential element in a box, to make any marketable illegal substance, they just give you a mild buzz and you mouth feels numb because of the active ingredients. I tried it once back 20 years ago from a Jamaican friend who wife was from Peru, and she go some set to her in the mail, that does not happen anymore that for sure.
