HOMEMADE CHILI
3 lbs hamburger
3 cups onions, chopped
3 cups green peppers, chopped
8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
2 quarts (2x28 oz. + 1x14 oz.) canned chopped tomatoes
5 tsp chili powder
2 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 to 1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
2 40-oz. dark red kidney beans
Brown hamburger in skillet, remove from grease and place into 4 qt saucepan. Cook onions & green peppers in leftover grease. Remove from grease and add to cooked hamburger.
Add tomatoes and spices. Cook on low-medium heat for about 45 minutes. Add kidney beans with juice from cans.
Cook for another 15 minutes, or just until beans start to split open.
Serve this with corn chips, chopped onions and shredded cheese or serve with saltine crackers. We like old fashioned fried potatoes with the chili. All are very good. Hope this helps..

U should try it with seasonings like pepper and something like pizza seasonings you should try it with crackers or hot dogs but with hot dogs you should put some nacho cheese it it so delicious!!

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds ground beef
2 onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dried oregano
4 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
DIRECTIONS
Combine ground beef, onion, and garlic in large stockpot. Cook and stir over medium heat until beef is brown. Drain.
Stir in chili powder, salt, oregano, tomatoes, and tomato sauce; break up tomatoes while stirring. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to simmer, and cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
Stir in beans. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes; stir occasionally.

I usually eat mine with crackers or a grilled cheese sandwich.
