Debate: Can water in a water bottle expire?!

Question:

Debate: Can water in a water bottle expire?

My friend and I are having an argument, and we're wanting to get some different views. Can water in a water bottle expire? He says no, and I say yes because there's an expiry date. He's telling me that I'm ruining the planet by drinking water from water bottles and says that recycling them doesn't help very much..and i'm saying that If i don't drink it, someone else will and they'll still continue to manufacture them...and even if no one else drinks it, they'd have to throw them away cause they'd expire..dumb argument I know..but can it expire?

Answers:
Yes it can.

Yes, but it will take a very long time to expire. Bacteria and stuff can grow inside.

I know that when i lived in earthquake country, they told us to store drinking water in empty(but not rinsed out) chlorine bleach containers. I image we did this to preserve the water in some fashion or another which leads me to believe that something must go bad about it. If it's kept clean and sealed, i imagine if it doesn't evaparate, it must be drinkable. There's my two cents, probably not much help though.

No not really considering unless the oxygen in the water bottle is altered or something bad happens to it then u are ok but if it is sitting by plants for like weeks or years than carbon dioxide will start to effect them
