Drinking coffee?!

Question:

Drinking coffee?

sometimes one cup of coffee can keep me awake for whole day and night while at other times i can sleep like a pig even after drinking one cup of coffee near bedtime. why is that so?

Answers:
Perhaps the caffeine content...

I have no idea, but the same happens to me. I think it has to do with other things we eat or drink as well.

Maybe different types of Coffee, have different levels of caffeine???

You know what? The same thing has happend to me. I think the caffeine after awhile can make your body crash, I have heard this before several times. I even sometimes drink mountain dew and energy drinks and they do the same. Certain energy drinks are pretty healthy though and won't make you crash.Mainly the one's with gingeng are the good one's.

You are probably exhausted if you sleep soundly at times after drinking coffee. Caffeine affects people differently. If I eat a meal full of carbs before bedtime...it doesn't matter how much coffee I have had before bed...I sleep like a baby.
Carbs make me very sleepy after about 30 minutes.

me too i dont know why...

I drink loads of coffee and sleep well every night.

Maybe your body is used to the caffeine. Try eating an apple in the times you need to be awake. I can personally attest that "an apple a day keeps tiredness away".

Good luck!!

the only time i drink coffee is if it,s real cold and i drink it just to keep warm but other than that i dont drink it

It depends on the bran and how stronge you make your coffee and what you use in your coffee!

The answer to this question revolves around how coffee works. Coffee keeps you awake because of caffeine. Caffeine is a substance known as a stimulant which act on the human brain making the person more alert. Caffeine also increases blood flow by making the heart pump faster. In that case, your body warms up and you get that 'jolt' to keep you awake.

However, if your body does not have sufficient food, or rest, caffeine being a weaker form of stimulant will not work. This is because the chemical produced in the brain would over ride the effects of caffeine for the benefit of the body. This is especially true when you are really tired. For some people, the body has been so used to caffeine that it does not respond any longer. Hence drinking coffee doe not work on them anymore.

It could have something to do with what we eat. Try eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before bed.

That would depend on what you ate last & when you ate it. But you might want to do what I do. I buy the half decaf/half regular kind. Tastes just a good & it works for me.
