So if mineral water has 'trickled through the mountains for centuries' .... why does it go out of date in a year?

I think for several reasons. First is that I think plastic decays after a while. It might be different if you drink it from a glass bottle. Second is just in case the steriliztion process doesn't work. Third to cover their @#$%*!
Because people touch it and contaminate it like they do everything else.
