John Pemberton created the syrup, and sold the formula to Asa Griggs Candler, who founded the company.

Asa G Candler led the formation of the Coca-Cola Company in 1892. He had purchased the rights to the Coca-Cola formula as well as the equipment for the manufacture of the syrup from John S Pemberton.

Pemberton was the creator of the formula for Coca-Cola in 1886.

Pemberton's bookkeeper Frank Robinson came up with the name Coca-Cola for the new drink and created the name using Spencerian script.

All three men were key figures in creating the Coca-Cola Company during its early history.
