Can as little as one cup of coffee cause anxiety?!

Question:

Can as little as one cup of coffee cause anxiety?

Answers:
Yes, especially if you haven't had anything to eat or you aren't used to drinking caffeine.

Yes, if you get hit in the head with it. Or you get it spilled on you.

It can, depending on your mental state to begin with. Also, it could be bad coffee. If this happens, drink decaffeinated coffee, if you like.
If you want the "coffee experience" without filling up on coffee, try this. Early in the day, following breakfast, get a small coffee with a shot of espresso (Honey Dew is better than Dunkin Donuts at this) and you get the European experience of a good coffee espresso. The amount you drink with a small coffee is still a bit more than they drink with their regular coffee (espresso). They make it strong and don't require the extra shot.

Well, sure, Brian, if you're gonna worry about it, yah, even half-a-cup of freeze dried instant could have your panties all in a wad.
Conversely, many feel anxious over (just) one cup, and crave the caffeine in well-metered regular doses. Idk if this's you or not?
Idk whether to advise you to drink more coffee or drink less...

Maybe just chill...

ah sure it can. i can do so too, like now. anyway too much coffee makes me feel wired and up and sometimes faster heart beat, as for anxiety its your own doing, so stop it.

If you are drinking a very strong coffee like Starbucks, then most definitely.

People are different, but listen to your body. If you feel gittery after a cup, then yea drink decaf. I used to be able to drink 3 cups but now I drink 1 and maybe another half. My son drinks these caffeine drinks that are loaded and he wonders why he turns red and his b/p gets higher. These are side effects of caffine, which also is in coke, chocolate, tea.Drink flavored vitamin waters, check lable for caffine.

It depends on the person.

The effect of 1 cup of coffee depends on the state of hydration prior to drinking the coffee. The brain gets 85% of its energy source from the water. It is for this reason that the brain is imbedded in a fluid called the cerebrospinal fluid. A cup of coffee contains an average of 80 mg caffeine, a diuretic. When one drinks a cup of coffee, he passes out 3 cups of water. This ratio usually dehydrates the body and this will definitely affect water supply to the brain. Dehydration leads to anxiety, depression, irritation, and some other mental problems. For better mental activity, avoid coffee and other caffeine containing beverages like tea, energy drinks, sodas, chocolates and also include alcoholic beverages.
