Answers:
I think there is a difference in taste. The only diet soda I have found that doesn't taste different is A&W diet Root Beer. It is really good!!

Thats like asking if there is a difference between apples and oranges.

The only ones I know that taste the same to me are Diet 7up , Diet Dr. Pepper , they r delish...

I certainly think there is a difference in many versions. For instance, most diet colas or "pepper" taste different to me than the regular versions. This is for a can or bottle; the fountain versions have even more variance. Some of the lighter flavor, such as lemon-lime, might be closer in taste. Now, while there is a difference in taste to me, I do sometimes enjoy the taste of diet versions as much or better than regular.

I think there is a difference, especially in the vague aftertaste that diet has. I haven't tried the stuff that uses Splenda instead of Saccharine or whatever, though, so maybe that tastes more normal.

There is a difference. Diet pop uses Splenda or aspartame as sweeteners, regular pop uses high fructose corn syrup or sugar.

It is classified as a beverage.

A friend showed me documentation of some acid in diet pop and regular pop that is the same as they use as a heavy acid solvent on longshore fishing boats. I stopped all soda, and my stomach and constpation flare ups were gone. I used to drink 1/2-liter a day. I crave plain water now and it hydrates much better. Used to make fun of water drinkers.

ummm yeah i think they taste dif diet kind of tasets flatter than regular and i think Diet pop some has calories and i suppos its classfied as drink

Certainly not.

It might not taste as good as the original but I have found that if you stick to it, you might even prefer it to the original. it kinda grows on you.

yes there is a difference! i wonder you can't tell the difference. too much diet pop isn't good either, many use the artificial sweetener called aspartame, which i've heard may cause brain damage if consumed in excessive amounts over a period of time...

I think Diet Mountain Dew is the closest to it's regular counter-part that I have found.
