Hot toddies for toddlers?!
Hot toddies for toddlers?
I would like to mix up some non-alcoholic drinks for the neighborhood kids for a cool party, any suggestions for Manhattans or Shirley Temples?

Can't get the taste right, is a tiny dash of Vermouth or Brandy OK, just for taste? It shouldn't hurt them.

I guess the real question would be.........what kind of responsible adult thinks it's cool for kids to have imitation alcholic beverages? 'nough said
Here ya go:
Shirley Temple
4 ounces Ginger Ale
2/3 ounce Grenadine
2 ounces Orange Juice
Build in a highball glass. Add Ginger Ale and orange juice over ice and sprinkle grenadine over it. Garnish with a lemon slice and a cherry.

Haha...cute.
Make some virgin strawberry dacquiris. Yum.
Buy the cheapo plastic disposable wine glasses, and let them drink sparkling white grape juice like champagne.
No...don't add any alcohol.
Also, best to not give them ideas about the glamor of drinking alcohol....
Toddlers shouldn't have any liquor and you can get into serious trouble with the law for giving it to them so its best just to stay clear of that.

other ideas
Mix cranberry juice with a bit of fresh squeezed lime juice. Pour into tall glass with some crushed ice & finish with a touch of sparkling water. Garnish with a lime slice or a rim of sugar.
Make mojitos without the rum. Crush lemon and/or lime slices with mint leaves with a muddler. Add sparkling water & simple syrup to taste.
Put some ice in a glass & pour some (1 tblsp.) grenadine syrup over it. Fill glass 3/4 of the way with sweet grapefruit juice & a splash of sparkling water.
Buy the Welch's Grape Juice that is carbonated. It comes in a glass bottle & can be found in the canned & bottled fruit juice aisle at your grocery store. Kids think it's a big deal. They sell white grape juice too. I buy it for my g'children on special occasions & they love it.
your best bet is not to do it at all
