Is coke made out of cocain?!

Question:

Is coke made out of cocain?

Answers:
god knows

The drink Coke had cocaine in it when it was first made in the early 20s. They took the ingredient out later.

and it used to be green too.

It contained a small amount of cocaine decades ago, but not anymore.

It used to have cocaine in it but they took it out of the recipe years ago. Coke was originally meant to be a cough syrup. This is probably why it had the drug in it.

If your lucky!

it used to contain cocaine.

No, of course not, but I actually think it may have been an ingredient at one point.

it was but not anymore

It used to be, sort of. It was originally made (in syrup form) to be dispensed at a pharmacy. The pharmacist would mix the syrup with carbonated water, and give it to "patients" as a cure-all.

It contained a derivative from the coca plant, which is how it got it's name. But the effect of the chemical was minimal, and the ingredient became very costly, so Coca Cola switched over to caffeine.

No. Nor are there any traces of it in the product.

1. Coke is soda, so it cannot be made from cocain.
2. Cocain was once an ingredient for it but was removed from the recipie

no. but it use to. but nothing to worrie bout now.

Unfortunatly no, It used to be. but not anymore.

Not any more. Until the early 1900's Coke use to contain a cocaine derivative but was banned. The trade name Coke still remains from that time. Interesting also is that up until the early 1900's you could also buy needle and syringe sets from Sears and over the counter at drug stores.

Before it was illegal yes but not anymore.

not anymore

Actually coke had a form of cocaine in it, but it was taken out years ago.

Originally it did contain some, but not anymore. It would likely be more expensive.
