"Safest" soda?!

Question:

"Safest" soda?

I realize that sodas are bad for you, but is there one soda out there that is considered ok to drink every once in a while? Particularly no sugar or caffeine?

I am trying to eliminate sodas from my diet completely but I'm finding it harder to quit drinking sodas then it was to quit smoking. I thought that maybe starting with sodas that cut out the sugar and caffeine would be a good way to start.

Answers:
Ginger Ale because when your sick and vomit thats what the doctors tell u to drink to settle your stomach. Ginger Ale is also caffeine free.

Seagram's ginger ale. Its also good for settling stomach aches also.

Ginger Ale or Tonic water but not to excess. Things with artificial sweetners are worse than sugar. They are pure chemicals you are putting in your body. Drink Water, make your own lemonade, (add a little real sugar less harmful) give up smoking and soda's at the same time...Soda may increase your desire to smoke.

No sugar or caffeine? Hmmmm..you take all the fun out of soda pops!!

I have a hard time getting enough fluids. I've been making my own soda with bottled soda water, orange extract, and sugar or stevia. I'm not entirely sure about the safety of stevia. I might try some of the other sweeteners.

All the sodas on the market have sweetener in some form, whether natural or artificial. Sometimes it's disguised on the ingredient list as "evaporated cane syrup" or some such, so you won't think it's sugar.

I believe the ginger ale recommendation is because it makes you burp and has no caffeine. My mom used to tank down 7-Up when she had migraines. You used to be able to buy Coke syrup for medicinal purposes, too. Maybe you still can in some places. Strange.

The Steaz company (green tea soda) says "..you really can feel good about drinking soda! That’s because each of our flavors tastes awesome and is bursting with powerful antioxidants and vitamins..."

"Zota Soda is organic green tea flavored in a variety of ways, with a wee bit of cane juice as sweetener - that means no high fructose corn syrup - and nothing artificial"

Bevnet.com says "Fizzy Lizzy is made from fruit juice & sparkling water with no added sugar, corn syrup or preservatives and a whopping 70% juice per bottle...Fizzy Lizzy was awarded Best in Aisle at the Summer Fancy Food Show in 2003 and was featured on The Today Show as one of the best products from the Winter Fancy Food Show in 2004."

Well since I was never aloud to drink soda growing up... now 22 and I hate the taste! I have always drank tea... unsweetened with a packet of sweet and low sugar, 0 calories! If you must drink soda I believe diet 7up is natural and will help with your cravings. Try the ice tea... you can even buy the Lipton packet and follow the directions to make cold tea. Don't forget the sugar....

im not sure wid my answer so im just gonna give u an advise.......diet sodas are bad for you because it will cause cancer....some ordinary sodas can cause diabetes maybe there is no safe sodas

Sprite and 7-up are decaffeinated. I stopped drinking soda's for about a year {tough @ 1st} because the carbonation bloats the guts. I'm drinking it again, though sparingly, I still notice the bloating effect.

soda is made up of carbonated water and high fructose corn syrup so there really is no safe soda as Splenda and NutraSweet are not healthy for you either.
giving up on soda is a good thing I am trying to do the same my nutrient freind want me to give soda up and I am finding it hard to do . good luck in your quest.
