Why is ice that comes out of the freezer white and not clear?!

Why is ice that comes out of the freezer white and not clear?

shouldn't ice be clear and not white if it is made out of water?

ive seen ice out doors that froze clear, like ice cicles that form in the winter. there is still air in there

It freezes too slowly. The faster water freezes, the clearer it becomes; because most freezers are set at around 20 degrees F, the ice takes a long time to freeze and the air is trapped in it.

Now, if you were to freeze ice cubes with dry ice instead of in the freezer, you'd get clearer ice.

Air molecules freeze with a white look. If you could freeze water without any air in the water, then it would be clear.

Because it is not "flash" frozen.
The quicker it freezes the clearer it will be.

It's because the way the light is reflected by the ice.
