Is there something addictive in diet coke?!

Question:

Is there something addictive in diet coke?

Have you ever notice that regular soda drinkers will vary what kind of soda they will intake and for the most part, diet coke drinkers will only drink diet coke. Five years ago hardly anyone drank diet coke except diabetics and now it seems like more and more people do. Does anyone agree there is something addictive in there?

Answers:
Yes i've noticed. I just read an e-mail on Diet pop. It states that Aspertame cause stmptoms of M.S. and Lupis. I Quote" If you are consuming Diet Soda stop now you are slowly poisoning yourself" .Scary hey

its just tha sugar..... even though its not real sugar there is heaps of it in there

oh yeah! Caffeine!

These days more and more people are trying to control their weight, even if they don't really need to. Plus Diet Coke has caffeine in it. I like both Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi and have felt the "need" for one at times. I believe it's the caffeine for me.

Caffeine is addictive and it's in Diet Coke. Besides that, it tastes pretty good.

I think it's just because most people switched over to diet when it came out. I used to drink regular, and now i can't stand it because it just seems wayyyy too sugary. People are just conditioned to the lighter taste of diet.

Caffeine is probably the only known ingredient in diet Coke that is addictive.

My friends who are regular diet Coke drinkers tell me that they prefer Diet Coke over regular Coke because of the taste.

In addition, I recall reading in Pendergrast's book on the Coca-Cola Company that Diet Coke does have a slightly different formulation than regular Coke (Classic) and it is smoother and less carbonated so it goes down easier.

After all the statistics show it, Diet Coke is the number one diet Cola on the planet.

the caffeine
