Does it matter what you drink when you sing?!

Question:

Does it matter what you drink when you sing?

I know that there are some drinks (such as milk) that are bad for the throat when you sing. So any singers out there......if milk is off the list, any other types of beverages that are good for the throat? How about Gatorade or Red Bull?

(Honey lemon tea is mostly used)

Answers:
It really depends on the person if something is good for your voice or not. Personally, I can eat and drink dairy products to my delight before I sing with no negative impact. But not everyone can. Gatorade is generally good for most people because it keeps you hydrated (although it creates flem in some), and Red Bull or anything with caffiene is generally bad because it dehydrates you. Some remedies that I swear by are Airborne, Emergen-C, and Throat Coat and Throat Comfort. BUT nothing comes close to good ole fashioned water!

yes it does.not only milk is bad for yr throat, any thing cold, like ice, fruit juice, cold drinks/soft drinks etc, and very sugary things too are bad for a singer's throat. if u hav a pretty voice and want to maintain it,stick to plain water or warm water.
