Diet coke uses altenate sweeteners rather than sugar(sucrose)..one such sweeteners is saccharin....its low on calories...so when ur body burns some calories, the incoming calorie count is very low, hence u loose weight....
look up diet coke on wikipedia u'll get evrything u wanted 2 know

Yes , and I gained weight ...the sugar substitutes can make you gain weight, also.

Daniel C. Stettner, PhD, says damaging the body's natural ability to count calories based on food's sweetness is just one way in which food can be manipulated to change eating habits and contribute to obesity.

"We do more to manipulate food than just add artificial sweeteners. The food industry plays with the sugar, the fat, and the salt," Stettner tells WebMD. "It's like a shell game."

Stettner says that when manufacturers lower the sugar content in foods, they typically increase the fat or the salt content to compensate for any change in how it tastes or feels in the mouth. For example, sugar-free ice creams can be made higher in fat content.

"Sugar-free foods can still be calorie-dense, and that can mess up weight," says Stettner, who specializes in weight issues at Northpointe Health Center in Berkley, Mich.

Stettner says the body's natural calorie counter and sense of balance is also affected by genetics, environment, marketing, and physical activity level, which were not taken into account by this study.

"So many factors contribute to obesity,"

Diet coke has no calories, compared with the 130 or so of pure sugar calories in 8oz of regular coke. However the artificial sweeteners in diet coke can make the body think it is getting sweets and thus impact your insulin levels. The calories aren't going to be there and thus help you not gain/ lose weight, however the potential impact on your insulin levels can counteract the lack of calories. Water or unsweet tea is your best bet.

Diet Coke is almost the same as the regular Coke, except the sugar has been replaced with artificial sweetener. It is a good switch for weight-loss purposes, but the sweeteners can damage your insides slowly. Beware.

Actually artificial sweeteners are toxic variations of a synthetically processed sugar.

You see, artificial sweeteners are a broken down chain of what sugar used to be.

Synthetically harvested and processed sugar that comes from nowhere farther than a 10 ton beaker is in itself obviously not sugar.

Now apply that formula to the artificial colorants and flavoring and essentially you have an equally toxic version of default stuff.

Diet... well I wouldn't suggest Coke products be introduced into anyones diet.

Who knows what the hell is in that stuff.
The label barely even tells you. And when you get the breakdown..
It's all phosphates and corrosives that are neither good for your stomach or any other organs for that matter.

(this goes for all soda drinks. fizzing science excrements in a can.)

Also, DIET does a whole lot of nothing for your diet.
Especially if you eat food with it.

It lowers metabolic rate and the time it takes to get the good stuff from your food.
In fact it's worse than regular.

In fact its all the same poisons just made simpler and easier to digest.
