Agree with the answers above; it seems in recent years "Kool Aid" is mentioned as something people who are crazy/silly drink. It didn't have this meaning before a few years ago, but now you'll hear things like "oh he's drinking the Kool Aid" which means he has silly thoughts or he is believing what the government or authority is saying.
But yes, by itself, it is a powered drink mix. One of the first of a line of products kids learn about on their way to early onset diabetes.
