How can I stop my caffiene addiction?!

Question:

How can I stop my caffiene addiction?

I drink coffee, a lot. If I stop, I get really bad head aches!! I want to stop having caffiene but I don't know how- has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do? Should I drink something else?

Answers:
Gradually go from regular coffee, to 50/50, to deacf, and then slowly start drinking even less and less of the decaf... it takes a while though, it's not something that will happen overnight. Just be patient.... and maybe drinking tea? Tea still has a little caffeine, but not a lot. (And if the idea of tea grosses you out, lol, there are a LOT of different flavors, everything from plain to blueberry to ginger to you name it) HIH!

Change to de-caf coffee, it has some caffiene so will be gradual - I did this with my Mom and Dad and they did not know it was de-caf and did not suffer at all!

I had problems with soft drinks. I was drinking too much of them so I had to step off. I got headaches and shakes but it's just something you have to work though. It's like going though drug withdrawl you just kind of have to go though the motations. You can always try something with chocolate or maybe tea (which has a lot less caffiene then coffee) or maybe sprint if you want to get off caffiene completely. Sometimes stepping down makes it easier, but I usually drink juices or milk or water now. Most of the time it does help.

you should gradually stop if you go cold turkey it will be hard! have less and less coffee a day or switch to decaf. decaf has very very low amounts of caffiene but not enought to harm you. I drank so much it began to give me really bad migraines so now I dont drink it at all! You dont want you body to reject it so you should gradually stop now

Exercise, it will change the energy flow of your body. If you eat more complex sugars you won't have the need for caffiene, because you'll have the energy from being active and not from caffiene

I had a nasty Diet Pepsi habit. Too much caffeine, so I bought some caffeine free and did a half and half-1 can CF 1 can C until I weaned myself off of the caffeine. Took about three weeks; but. I didn't have the headaches. I, once, tried it cold turkey with grapefruit juice-toooo many headaches. Like someone else said try decaf; but, go slowly.

Suffer through the pain for about 2 weeks and then it will be all over.

Try this cut back 1/2 cup a day until you get where you want to be.I will never give coffee up completely.Cut back is the way to do it,like weaning yourself off anything....

gust stop drink it
the head aches will go away in a week

wean yourself off by drinking de-caf & then drink plenty of iced water
