Can Chai Tea be good for you?!

Question:

Can Chai Tea be good for you?

I replace it with my coffee now - does it have the same amount of caffeine of coffee? Because my heart is sensitive to too much caffeine - what are the benefits? and what's bad about it?

Answers:
chai tea is generally black tea with certain spices added to it. the recipe came from indai and the spices are usually the following: cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, star anise, peppercorn, and cloves. Other possible ingredients include Nutmeg, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla , licorice or saffron.

black tea definitely has less caffeine than coffee. so chai tea will suit you very well. In general, tea is healthier for you than coffee because it contains nutrients that coffee does not contain like EGCG which are nutrients that help fight disease and help fight certain ailments. In addition, those spices added to make chai tea also have health benefits. Plus, they taste wonderful. good luck.

yes its much better for you than coffee

Depends on what type of Chai, it has it's benefits, but some of the Chai has a lot of caffeine in it.

In general, tea has 1/5 to 1/2 the amount of caffeine that coffee has (depending on how it's made, of course).

The health listed benefits are legendarily long, and sadly, largely unproven. Don't expect the FDA to give chai a 'health food' recommendation.

The latest on tea benefits seem to be stress related:

"...people who drank tea were able to de-stress more quickly than those who drank a fake tea substitute. The study participants - who drank a black tea concoction four times a day for six weeks - were found to have lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol in their blood after a stressful event..." UK Tea Council.

Best wishes!
