Energy drinks have been known to cause problems with some people. Especially people with heart problems - as the caffeine in them stimulates blood flow and makes the heart beat faster. Plus it can also dehydrate you. But for the majority of people that do drink them they are fine. Especially if you stick to drinking the quantities that they recommend on the back of the labels.
Here in Mexico some jerks mix Redbull with alcohol. Some have even died from such a cocktail. I'm sure that never made it to the news over there.
