Why are you not supposed to drink water out of the bathroom sink?!

Question:

Why are you not supposed to drink water out of the bathroom sink?

Answers:
due to the high moisture content in bathrooms, mold commonly grows around faucet grommets and can introduce harmful bacteria to your body

Who says that?

I do in the middle of the night if I forget to leave a glass by my bed.

Ummmmm.....I've been drinking water from the bathroom sink for over 50 years, and I've never gotten sick. I think someone is pulling your leg! LOL

you're not? uh-oh ......

I don't think it will hurt you.

i think you can, but theres some germs in it. heheheh. i always drink in mineral water.. you should to

Its like the coldest water in the house. Especially so after brushing your teeth. Mmmm.

I don't know if the bathroom sink is any different than a kitchen sink, per se. It may be more likely to have mold or bacteria. But more importantly, I just do not drink tap water in general. Bottled water is cleaner and fresher.

I have some Ocean-front property in Arizona....wanna buy it?? You sure do sound gullible! I hear-tell it's the toilet and NOT the sink your not supposed to drink from. lol

because water out of the bathroom is stored in a tank .and water out of the kitchen comes from the mains wich is fresh water .get a drink from downstairs much cleaner yuk

Your bathroom sink (I hope you mean tap) is no different than any other in the house. As for bacteria/mold what would be the difference between washing your hands & drinking from a glass when water coming from same place. In actual fact your bathroom sinks & taps probably get cleaned more often & thoroughly than others.
All bathrooms should have a fan exhaust to control humidity & moisture content especially in todays air tight homes.
One more thing, when you brush your teeth & rinse does anybody go to another room? Not very likely.
Drink up!!

Never heard of such a rule. Maybe your bathroom sink isn't plumbed like the rest of the house, check with the owner or the local water service.

I dont see a Difference between the Kitchen or the Bathroom Faucet....tastes aweful one Way or the other ! We put an Adapter with a Filter on our Kitchen Faucet, the Water tastes better than Bottled Water.....

If you're not supposed to drink from the bathroom faucet, where do you brush your teeth?

I would assume that the bathroom sink being so close to the toilet could possibly be a good carrier for bacteria considering when you flush the toilet water can spray up to 6 feet. Some of that spray has to land on, in and around the sink. Potentially causing sickness. Which is why we are told not to leave our toothbrush out in the open.

Supposedly mold grows around the faucet and you could get sick. I don't know. I drink from it when I brush my teeth. Uh oh... :)
