Is it okay for kids to consume energy drinks?!

Question:

Is it okay for kids to consume energy drinks?

Let's say around the age ranges of 11-14.

Answers:
Health experts advise that children should not drink energy drinks because of various health concerns, including the drinks' high caffeine content, which can lead to sleeplessness, nervousness, elevated blood pressure and heart rate, and their high calorie content, which can contribute to childhood obesity

not quiet, some kids i know around my neighborhood drank one or two, and couldnt sleep at all for a couple days, but for 13-14 maybe

I personally would not give that to give that to a teen. It is better to give them a nutritious meal instead. Sometimes energy drinks contain caffeine, which is not healthy.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

They can cause heart attacks, nervous system problems, even death.

Yes, energy drinks have killed children in this country.

Read the labels. Take your kid's pulse 20 minutes after they consume an energy drink and feel their hearts race.

That crap is bad for you.

I would say no for the average 11 year old. 12 still safely no 13+ depending on body weight is most likely safe. Had my first cups of coffee around 13...

Keep in mind not all of these drinks are created equal. I would say its no worse than a teenager drinking Surge or Mt. Dew which have a TON of caffine.

Would I encourage a teenager to do this? Never! especially on a school night :)

yes but let them have 1 energy drink

I was told by a dentist that some energy drinks when consumed in large quantities can cause tooth decay.
I think because they are drunk before or after sport and teeth are not brushed straight away.

OMG NO they will tear your house down and it is not healty

Yes, very safe. Just not too much, its not good for anyone, but it is really good! i like sobe and vault..

I started drinking coffee when I was a kid and also have not only had some energy drinks but I liked them.I would say chances are that an 11 year old would taste it and beg you not to give any more to him/her.

I would not advise letting your children drink any energy drink. They are full of caffiene which isn't good for the body in the first place, let alone a small body where things are still developing.

of course they can

I say no younger than 16 or 17

No. If you are referring to sport drinks. They are not good for anyone, too much salt and dye.
