that's because comercials lie

If it tastes good, don't worry about how it looks. Yours is probably better quality and sounds good. I like iced too, too.

there tea is probably filtered. Honey is really good with Ice tea. My Mom would use different types of tea for Ice tea. She made a Rasberry Chai Ice Tea once.

As long as you are making iced tea that tastes good to you, don't worry about how it looks.

Most the Iced tea is brewed at beer breweries which can use natural additives like Irish moss or plastic resins which when added to the brew attaches to the impurities and settle to the bottom. Not realistic for at home.

Tip make more of the strong tea then you need chill it and allow to settle some of the particles will fall to the bottom and if you then poor off or scoop out the clearest concentrate before mixing with your sugar and lemons
P.S. lemon juice will make it cloudy try steeping some lemon zest.
Boil you water before you freeze it so that its crystal clear.

Now after all that I would say get yourself a glass that's got a lot of design to it so that you dont notice the cloudiness

Try using Tea straight (not Tea Bags) Boil and then simmer. Strain after cooling. Then Re-strain. Then Add Honey + Sugar (30/70 Ratio). Mix Well. Strain. Add Lemon Juice / Peach Juice. Strain. Chill. Alternatively if you want it very clear omit the lime juice and add Citric Acid. Hope this solves your Problem. Ciao

In my family we add a couple pinches of baking soda in what will be a gal. It doesn't make it perfectly clear but it does look clearer (and a little darker). It also helps neutralize the acid.

I buy Celestial Seasoning's Ice Tea. It comes in lemon and peach flavors. But it doesn't look crystal clear when I make it either.

I just read in another article on here that squeezing/ringing out the tea bags will make your tea cloudy and possibly bitter. Steeping the bags for 3-5 minutes is enough and that in England squeezing the bag is considered bad taste.

My mother-in-law has the same problem you do and I don't.

She boils water in the microwave and then sticks the teabags in the container with the water. Then she pours the strong tea over ice cubes in the glasses and we add our own sugar or lemon.

I boil water in my tea kettle and put the tea bags (black, herbal or a combination) in the pitcher. When the water boils, I pour it over the tea bags. I steep the tea for 3-5 minutes and then lift the bags out (no squeezing). I add sweetner sometimes (depending on the type of tea) and then add a bunch of ice to fill up the pitcher. My tea is always clear.

use crystal light
