its fine! its water! Maybe if you leave it in there amonth or 2 & it becomes stagnant, that'd be gross, but otherwise its fine. I too leave it in there, & rinse & refill the next use. U r fine!!!!!!!!!!

my tea pot is like yours and always has water in it and we've had it for years now...boy do i love that thing!

Most city water is treated so it doesn't matter if the water sits in the pot BUT if you live in the country and your water is from a well you should empty you pot after each use because of the minerals in the water that can leach into the pot and make the water and pot undesirable.

The reason why you should always use fresh water every time you want to brew a fresh pot of tea lies in the taste. The more oxygen is dissolved in the boiling water the better the taste of your brew and the better color it has.

When the water gets boiled it starts to lose dissolved oxygen. The longer it is boiled the more oxygen it is lost. Also when the water stands in the pot it will lose more oxygen.

Therefore, for a perfect cup of tea you should remove your pot of water off the heat the moment it starts to boil and use it immediately.

Cheers!

i just put a 1/4 full, boils quicker .
also water is H2O how can it loos oxygen and still be water??
tell me that one? makes no sense
