What does green tea taste like? (compared to other foods or drinks)?!

Question:

What does green tea taste like? (compared to other foods or drinks)?

Answers:
Depends on the preparation and type of green tea, really, so it's hard to say.

In general though, green tea has a light fresh, almost grassy taste. It's also usually slightly bitter, but it's nothing unbearable.

Truthfully, I'm not sure what other foods/drinks to compare it to! My best advice would be for you to try it yourself-- you can find plenty of green tea leaves at a grocery store.

If you like sweeter tea, I'd also suggest trying some of the bottle, already-prepared green teas, or "green tea flavored" drinks. My favorite is SoBe's green tea, but Lipton has a pretty good bottled green tea as well.

never tasted it before

It delicious! My favorite is Arizona green tea, they also make it in diet, which taste just like the regular without the calories. Try it, you'll like it!

i agree with above. it tastes a little grassy to me,too. it's an acquired taste. i buy the Lipton green tea bags that have flavors added. probably not that healthy but better than coffee or a soda that i would drink otherwise. can't stand HOT regular tea. love regular iced tea with splenda. i never buy the bottles ,all the money i save making it myself i can spend on something else.

Green tea has a citrus taste with an aftertaste that you have to get used to. The aftertaste is like that of Iced teas and white tea if you have ever had it. I like it better than iced tea because it doesn't stain your teeth. :D

Green tea is similar to regular tea. The differences are that it has a much lighter, cleaner taste, and it has little bit of a bite at the end (a little bitter).

Well, the Herbal Concentrate from icnutritionmall.net, has a green tea component in it, and it taste absolutely taste wonderful.

Just like regular tea to me!

The green tea I drink tastes nutty, light and fresh. The aftertaste is sweet and long lasting. It makes your mouth tingle because of the theanine content.

Good green tea should never taste grassy and bitter. Those are the late pickings, poor green tea.

I did a review on the tea in the link below, read and see what I mean.

I began to consume it regularly 2 years ago however I still remember the first feeling that I experience when consuming it.

As I was told not to mix it with too many sugar or else the effects would be diminished, I decided to drink it plain.

The taste was very bitter for me at that time. However it took me several weeks before I get used to it and enjoy the soothing scent from the tea.

nvr tasted it b4!!

green tea is very light yet is very tasty it has wonderful undertones and is a great tea to drink.
you may find that each type of green tea may have a different type of taste as some have blueberry, orange, lemon or other added flavor.

I drink Green Tea every day. It doesn't taste too good at first, it's actually quite bitter...although I've never tried sugar in it or anything. But, I must say, the taste does grown on you.
