Why doesn't bottled water turn stagnant?!

Question:

Why doesn't bottled water turn stagnant?

Stagnant can just mean being still, I mean it in the sense 'foul, unwholesome from stillness.'

Answers:
Bottled water is packaged in "clean atmosphere". It does not have preservatives or additives to keep it fresh. Once the bottle is open and is exposed to normal air then acts as normal water does does stagnant or off over time. Because the water is fundamentally bacteria free it does take a very long time however.

It does become stagnant. Bottled water contains bacteria and these will multiply if the bottle is opened and unused for a long period of time.

It will do if it's left long enough !!

Preservatives....

it does if it's been opened and not refrigerated. bacteria will start to build up and it does get a fowl odor and taste. especially if you drink from the bottle instead of pouring it into a glass or cup or left exposed to air

Water does have a use by date
If you open it then leave it for some time then it will go stagnant

it does become stagnant if its been opened too long

because it is sealed i think
