What is the freshest, best tasting coffee I can buy in the grocery store?!

Question:

What is the freshest, best tasting coffee I can buy in the grocery store?

I like coffee, but not starbucks too much as it has so much caffeine. Whether it's a cup or a can or bag, what is the best?

Answers:
You cant get a fresh roasted coffee in the grocery store.
The reason is coffee beans will retain their fresh roasted flavor for 2 to 3 weeks after roasting. Ground coffee will retain that flavor for 2 to 3 days. By the time the coffee mill roasts the coffee, packages it and ships to a warehouse and then ships to a store your chances of it still having that fresh roasted flavor are slim to none. Your best way to find really fresh roasted coffee beans is to find a local coffee roaster and buy from him or go online and find a reputable coffee roaster there.

I am really picky about the taste of coffee and have tried them all. I have even tried a lot of Gevalia coffees. The best is Breakfast Blend of most of the bagged ones you find in the grocery store. The best coffee I have found is ARCO coffee. You can mix one bag decaf and one bag caffeinated. It is the best tasting coffee I have found.

If you buy the coffee beans in a store where you take what you need... mix half caffeinated and half not. I buy from a place that has the roasting machine right there in view. I usually get a decaf. French roast (for the richer flavor) and a flavored. But mixing half caffeine and have decaf is how I cut down on the carffeine, but still get a nice, rich and full flavor.

My favorite, and our office's favorite is Seattle's Best. I really like their organic coffee because it's Fair Trade Certified, and it tastes awesome. I buy it at any grocery store, and it comes pre ground. Millstone has good coffee, too, and you can buy it whole bean or grind it in the store.

Well I live in Texas and I buy Cafe Ole Texas Pecan coffee...Or Lola Texas Pecan. I like the Hazelnut too...yes I like nuts...Hahaha...so if you don't live in Texas...I would have to say it really depends on what you like.

Then during the day I like any breakfast blend (not to harsh or too bitter, but strong enough to taste good.)
By the way if you are looking for a coffee with less caffine, the darker the roast the less it has...One that has more caffeine; the lighter the roast the more caffeine

You can always do half and half.

I have found this to be the best in coffee (in my opinion). It's called 8 O'clock coffee and in my area it is actually at a pretty decent price. You can buy it either already ground or whole bean.

1. Seattle's Best
2. Eight O' Clock
3. Yuban (cheap, but not as good as the others)
4. Tully's

I love coffee too! Us coffee addicts gotta stick together & help each other out! Best of luck! :o)
