Is there a form of coffee that won't make me sick?!

Question:

Is there a form of coffee that won't make me sick?

Although I like the taste and the smell of coffee, and love the caffeine for those nights near the end of the semester where I need to stay up till 5 am to finish class work--unfortunately coffee always leaves me feeling very sick to my stomach for an hour or two. The only coffee I've found that doesn't upset me thus far is really sugary, fattening capichino, but I can't very well drink that all the time, and it still leaves me feeling uneasy most of the time. Is there such a thing as coffee for those that have sensitive stomachs that I can pick up at the local grocery store or a gourmet store?

Answers:
There is. I don't recall the name of it, but a friend of mine drinks it all the time and he gets it at a regular grocery store so you should be able to locate it without too much trouble. It's low acid, I think..

I like the folgers simply smooth..have you tried that one?

Trial and error is the only way for any individual to find out.

But coffee should never be consumed on an empty stomach. That may help.

Have you tried caffeine pills? If they make you sick then pretty much all coffee will too. Or, you could go the 'Red Bull' route. Sickly sweet but same caffeine as coffee.

The makers of a new type of coffee claim it is sensitive enough for people typically irritated by coffee.

The company, Gentle Java, reported that it uses a purification process developed in Europe to remove or reduce impurities and irritants found in coffee.

Others, like Kava Coffee, claim it neutralizes the drink with potassium, much like adding an antacid to your coffee.

Try a coffee bean that is light-medium roasted. Stay away from the French Roast/Dark Roasted.

For some reason, the dark roasted coffee tear my stomach up as well. I also dilute it with a little hot water, some sugar, and half and half.

you can try a couple different routes (by the way, I'm in the same boat as you... sensitive stomach, unhappy head feeling)
try eating before you caffeinate it up, I find a snack before the bean helps me to not get so sick.
There's a new brand out by Folger's (its in a green can) that's for sensitive stomach's. It's a low-acid blend that should make it less uncomfortable for you.
If all else fails, maybe an energy drink for those all-nighters might make you less ill, though I don't think it tastes as good as coffee!!!

Hope I could help! I know how ya' feel. I'm a total coffee addict but it hurts my stomach too! Good luck!

:o)
