Are energy drinks really that bad for young teens(12 and 13)?!

Question:

Are energy drinks really that bad for young teens(12 and 13)?

I started drinking Full Throttle and Rockstar when i would go to this place only on fridays with my friends. my parents found out and are telling me that i can no longer drink it because it is extremely bad for people my age. What is so bad about energy drinks that body wont beable to handle one energy drink a week?or is my dad just being lame because he doesnt like me having caffiene either(although caffiene is in chocolate?)

Answers:
I think he's just trying to help.
As with all things, anything in moderation is fine. Energy drinks have high sugar content and are particularly bad for your teeth. Other than that, remember that caffiene is a drug. A stimulant and can actually become addictive. Have fun, talk to your father and come to an amicable agreement.

I work in a design office, caffeine is my friend.

I personally don't think they're bad for teenagers.
Most of them don't even give teens energy thought the day
because their bodies are still growing and their metabolisms are still at their fastest.

They're just like drinking soda for teens,
unless they already have a hyper disease.

they have loads of sugar and caffiene which is a stimulant, which will speed up your heart rate.

and if you dont use that energy that the drink is giving you, like you are sitting on the couch, it can be a strain on the heart at such a young age.

Yes I just read an article its full of sugar and caffeine. I told my kids dont drink them.
