Question:

Why are energy drinks (think red bull, isotonic stuff) banned in thailand?

i'm just morbidly curious...

Answers:
I could not find news on energy drinks being banned in Thailand. There were reports that Thai government placing constraints on ads, etc.

It's ironic that Thailand is the birthplace of Red Bull, the number one energy drink in the USA and the rest of the world.

Until late 2004, Red Bull's sale was prohibited in Canada. Now a can must carry a warning label that says:

Cautions: Contains caffeine. Not recommended for children, pregnant or breast-feeding women, caffeine sensitive persons or to be mixed with alcohol. Do not consume more than 500 mL per day.

I heard its banned because its so bad for you....it causes cavities and can cause heart attacks if you drink alot and then excercise....so thats why i dont excercise cause im hooked on red bull!!! lol

well: according to " U.S Markets where they sell Red Bull
Power Energy Drinks has been discontinued because of Gold Star Beverage Co did alot better Business "

I have lived in Thailand for over 17 years and I can assure you energy drinks are produced and sold by the millions here. There are many brands and I know of none that are banned.

Why do you think they are banned? I guarantee they are not banned. They are available in every shop and are extremely popular.

not enough profit???
