Can drinking warm or hot soda kill you?!

Question:

Can drinking warm or hot soda kill you?

I'm asking because i've heard multiple stories of people dying after drinking a hot soda that they left in their car on a hot summer day. So is it really true that a soda which is heated could kill you?

Answers:
No-Most of my family has been drinking hot Dr. Pepper w/lemon for years-warms you up in winter and makes you feel better when you're sick-and they even have recipes for it so this one myth you can kiss good bye

I dont think so.....Ive never heard of that!! Ask a science teacher if you are in school..they might no!

no thats just a myth it must of happened due to something that they did before they drank it,and then the combination must have been deadly

No, In fact Dr. Pepper is a warm winter drink.I drink warm Mt. Dew all the time.

nope, not that i no of my brother drinks it when hes sick and well last time i checked he was alive.....hahaha

I have never heard of anyone stupid enough to heat soda and if there is some one out there who did I'm sure the page of statistics has very few lines. as far as drinking warm soda, I was in germany for four years and germans in general do not refrigerate beer or soft drinks they are drank at room temp. I think the case you are refering to had more to with drinking anything hot in a hot car.

OMG, YES WHATEVER YOU DO IN LIFE. DON'T DRINK A WARM SODA! Honestly, did you really believe that story?

Hey by the way I have 15 million dollars I'll send you if you send me a money order for 500 dollars. Honest!

Actually, diet soda containing Aspartame has been known to be dangerous after being left in a hot car. The chemical makeup changes when it is heated. Regular sodas with sugar don't count, but if you're thirsty, they will suck.

That's silly. You probably won't even get sick from that. I don't think hot or warm soda tastes good, but it won't hurt you.

There are recent studies and reports on this topic because of traces of benzene found in some sodas.

The presence of those ingredients doesn't mean benzene is present. Scientists say factors such as heat or light exposure can trigger a reaction that forms benzene in the beverages.

Federal rules limit benzene levels in drinking water to 5 parts per billion. A limited FDA analysis of store-bought drinks found benzene levels as high as 79 parts per billion.

yes, it will kill you mentally....beware

A lot of diet sodas, like Diet Pepsi, have an ingredient contained in the can that basically once heated up to a certain degree can act as a poison and drinking that for a long period of time can in turn start to really do damage. Our teacher talked to us about that in a media class the other year, plus she gave us an article on it, but I’m not sure where it is online now.

only if it gets so hot that it explodes in your face when you pop the top and the steaming hot soda boils your brain.
