Do you think woo-long tea and green tea have the same effects?!

Question:

Do you think woo-long tea and green tea have the same effects?

I drink at least 2 cups of green tea every day, is woo-long the same thing? do they have the same effects?

Answers:
are you talking about oolong tea? i think one is black and another is green, and supposedly green is better for you, but i am no expert.

Never heard of woo-long tea, I'll ck that out sometime. Green Tea is very good, I drink that when I feel the need to cut back on my caffeine because it helps keep me going with a more gentle effect

the difference in these teas is the way they are processed. Ooolong tea is more processed and more prevalent in Chinese restaurants. I think both are beneficial which is why I would mix it up between the two. I drink several kinds of tea so I don't get bored and it's the best way in my opinion. good luck.

from UK Tea Council:
Oolong

Grown in the Fuijan province, these are semi-oxidised or "semi-green" teas with flavours varying from light and delicate to very strong. Se Zhong is a thick strong tea with colour but there are more light flavoured Oolongs such as Huan Jin Qui (Yellow Golden Flower), Shu Xian (Water Fairy), Da Hong Pao (Great Red Robe), Loui Gui (Meat Flower) and Wuyi Yan (Bohea Rock).

Oolong tea is often served in Chinese restaurants and should be taken without milk or sugar, since both dominate the natural delicate flavour.

Different tea types. Woolong = oolong= wulong= wu long = oo long.

Green have more antioxidant less caffeine,

oolong has less ontioxidant but more caffeine in it.

you can check out different types of green and oolong at http://www.teacuppa.com

Woo-long tea = Wu-long tea = Oolong tea.
Black Tea is fully oxidized.
Green Tea is not oxidixed.
Oolong Tea is partially oxidized, anywhere between 15-85%.
All tea contains antioxidants which have myriad health benefits. Green tea has higher amounts of antioxidant, although a lightly oxidized oolong may be close in content to a green tea. They are all healthy.

There has been one company who has touted Wu-long tea as having special weight loss benefits. One study using oolong tea (not any special brand) showed the weight loss effect, however, this benefit is known to come from any tea (real tea, not herbal).

Oolong tea is semi-fermented, while green tea is not fermented.

They are both beneficials, it really is individual preference which one you prefer.

Green tea contains catechins, while oolong tea contains more of theaflavins and therubigins (the oxidised version of catechins)

Oolong tea has made from more matured leaves. While very high grade green tea is made from young tender tea shoots.

Drinking these tender tea shoots have certain advantages. In particular, because they are picked very early, they contain very little pollutants.
