Because they are just darn mean! That's why!
Oh! Because they think that after a certain point the drink gets flat and you wouldn't want to drink it.
Some mugs are meant to be decorative rather than practical.
Because some people just want to look cool, even though they spill liquid all over themselves LOL
because they're meant to be as a design object rather than a functional object.
Same with why people bother to wear complicated clothes and accesories that do little use for themselves
