Why won't water go into the ice maker?!

Question:

Why won't water go into the ice maker?

water just barely trickles in

Answers:
It may be the solenoid. It's in the back of the fridge typically behind an access panel. It's about an inch or square and about 2 inches high. The water supply line(s) will be going into it and then out. It also has an electrical connection (plug type) on it.

If your fridge dispenses water as well has it's flow decreased? If not keep an eye on it because if it's the solenoid it's likely to be the next thing that's affected.

Mine has the same problem though I haven't bought the replacement part for it as of yet.

The lines could also be frozen, but if it's trickling then I don't think that's the case.

tell it it better get its trickly a-s-s down faster

The line from the tap to your ice maker (behind the refrigerator) could be pinched somewhere. There might be some built-up in the water line. The valve if any connecting to the line may be faulty or not completely opened. The ice maker maybe defective and needs maintenance or repair.

Turn the valve the other way.
