Soda carbonation?!

Question:

Soda carbonation?

anyone know if carbonation effects your bones. i heard that once. maybe an old wives tale.

Answers:
The acid in the carbonation can give you cavities (I know this from experience), so I guess it could possibly affect your bones, considering teeth are basically bones. However, it does not touch your bones like it touches your teeth, so it might not. You should ask your doctor.

I don't think so, but drinking caffiene affects your blood pressure.

No reason that should be true. The only danger carbonated drinks will pose to you is the potentially violent decompression upon opening. If you know what I mean.

Carbonation comes from CO2 added to the soda.

Carbon dioxide, when added to water for carbonation, is not harmful upon ingestion. Like other food ingredients, carbon dioxide has been reviewed by regulatory authorities worldwide and its safety has been confirmed. Carbonation has no documented effects on the gastrointestinal tract or on general health.
