Why are most bottled green tea's mixed with lemon, lime or citris?!

Question:

Why are most bottled green tea's mixed with lemon, lime or citris?

why do they all have some type of fruit flavor added to them

Answers:
I suspect that adding a flavor the public is used to will help it sell better. I haven't really checked thoroughly, but there's gotta be at least ONE bottled green tea plain which is probably sweetened so much to make up for the taste. Probably at Whole Foods which always has a great selection.

Although I love green tea and am used to the taste, I think people will not like it plain. Even if it is sweetened a lot. Interesting question thanks!

My personal opinion is because green tea by itself is gross. From a marketing standpoint, I would imagine so they can compete with the sodas and flavored waters and such and appeal to a broader audience.

Green tea is much more bitter then regular tea, and leaves an aftertaste, but is very healthy. So, by adding flavoring, it would pertain to more people buying the product.

because they want to ruin the taste. i hate flavored green tea

I personally like Arizona's Green tea w/ ginseng and honey. There's no citrus flavor in it and its delicious. I just recently tried the pomegranate green tea and its so awesome. You've got to try it!

It's product differentiation and the drink manufacturers think that consumer want flavor and variety in their beverages - just look at all the different flavors of soda, cola, iced tea, coffee, etc.
