Isn't Silica suppose to be bad for you?!

Question:

Isn't Silica suppose to be bad for you?

I drink fiji water and it contains silica, but isn't that suppose to be bad for you?
Is aquafina better than fiji health wise?

Answers:
Silica is an element present in the connective tissue in bone, to which calcium binds. Some say 10 to 40mg of silica are lost from our bodies each day through excretion, skin shedding, hair cutting and nail clipping. Hence some advocate replacing silica in our diet via e.g. Fiji Water.

Fiji water is natural artesian water, but aquafina is mostly purified water from municipal water sources and is bottled in multiple locations around the country, so it is not the same source of water depending where you purchase it.

Silica is non-toxic. That certainly doesn't mean I want to drink it in my water! That's absurd! :(

Silica is actually sold in capsule form and can be found in most health-food stores. Here is some more info:

Wikipedia says it's harmless to us, for whatever that's worth...

But I'm with Sandy...none of this means I want to drink it!
