Is fleece really made out of milk cartons?!

Question:

Is fleece really made out of milk cartons?

my younger brother seems to believe that fleece is made out of milk cartons? i was just wondering if that was true or not

Answers:
I remember reading an article in a Highlights magazine more than 8 years ago about this. A lot of fleece is made out of recycled plastic bottles. I don't have the article anymore, but I distinctly remember reading that one.

I think though that the basic process was washing the bottles, then stredding them up into small pieces, and somehow turning it into fiber/cloth.

Hope this helps some!

no i do not think that is true it would be weird if i am wrong though

Fleece is made from a sheep's wool.

Natural fleece, of course, is sheep's wool...

But many "fleece" like polar fleece jackets, etc. is made from recycled plastic bottles.
