I really like the coffee at Starbucks and very rarely do I order anything else. The "barristas" are happy to serve you whatever you order. Their job is to serve you, not to judge you. Get what you want and enjoy yourself!
nope. i do it all the time. i don't want all the calories of the foo foo coffees, but i like the strong coffee they serve.

NO!! The coffee is definitely not self serve, though we do ask you to choose what coffee you want out of what is brewing. We definitely like our 'plain cup of coffee' customers. =)

If you used to drink coffee, there will be no effect on your looks. You might even liken to ask for another cup with smiles on your face, spending a time to enjoy the taste of it.
Nope. I do it all the time. Just say, "I'd like a tall/grande/venti drip coffee." If you want cream, say, "w/ room for cream." The baristas probably will be relieved that you ordered something simple b/c they're stressed out enough already.

Actually, no. When you go into a coffee shop, the employees are just glad that your there. And none of the customers should give you a weird look. Mainly because, the coffee at a coffee shop like Starbucks has a lot more flavor than just Folgers. I used to work at a coffee shop called Saxby's Coffee. We had people come in and order just a plain cup of coffee all the time. Especially in the morning.
My experience has been that Starbucks is just as proud of the quality of their regular coffee as they are of the fancy concoctions that the baristas fix up.
I bet they consider a plain coffee order a testiment to the high quality of their beans------whether you mean it that way or not. ;-)

a plain cup of coffee would more or less just be a 'long black' which is literally just the shot of coffee with boiling water (either poured by the machine or done in a perculator). its not weird at all. plain coffee is good when your not inerterested in fancy flavours and mixtures. if they give you a weird look. give them a weird look back cause they dont know what they are talking about anyway.
not at all, people come in all the time & order regular black coffee... they don't find that strange at all!
Actually, they really like it when people order regular coffee, because they don't have to mix, blend, steam or brew anything... it's already done!

no, not at all. they'd get it for you, it's never self served at least not the starbucks i've been to. it's actually pretty common for people to just order black coffee from them.
