Alcohol and how it affects young peoples...anyone??
What pressures or influences affect young people's decisions to drink or not to drink??
Are there different pressures and expectations for males and females?why or why not?
Are different alcoholic drinks associated with different images?example?
Will this affect who chooses to drink particular drinks or when people drink them?
What is a "DRY COMMUNITY"??
How do "DRY COMMUNITIES" regard alcohol use?
What role does alcohol play in rituals and ceremonies held in different cultures?example?
i would like to know your opinions and knowledge on this subject!!
THANK YOU!!
p.s: i need answers A.S.A.P
Answers:
pressure for young people: to 'fit it' is a textbook answer, and it is unfortuantley true. Drinking is a social thing, if you have a party generally people drink as it is associated with celebrations (weddings for eg).
Im not sure what you mean by images. i dont know if you mean like beer and 'manly' men and lolly drinks (such as vodka cruisers or pulse) as a 'girly' drink. wine and champagne are regarded as upper class due mainly to expense (bar 'goon' or 'wine sacks')
Advertising has a big influence on what people drink. As all advertising has an effect on everything we do. Alcohol is usually glamourised. i think i actually answered that above??
dry communities im sure are just those that dont drink. alcohol is seen as a social and health nuisance due to the physical and psychological effects it has on people (particualarly youths). for example fighting, rape, crime rates, and other disorderly behaviour.
in italy wine is drank in a ritual manner as they see it as a health benefit (glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away) but its also very big at weddings etc. in most cultures sipping champagne with linked arms is big at weddings. youths also see alcohol as a 'rite of passage'
hope it helped. doubt it did. sure killed some time for me!
alcohol affects everyone the more u drink the more ur brain shrinks bit by bit.
i dont get ur qns on image and drinking. maybe its base on certain people perception
What is the point of your question?
Alcohol is both a social drink at a mature level as opposed to soda & coke.
Alcohol has the effect of relaxing the mind & body after a hard day's work.
Wine in particular is found to have anti-oxidative effects when enjoyed in moderation and on a regular basis.
Therefore, there are only good affects to everyone, including young people, where alcohol is consumed responsibly.
As with everything, there is always the possibility of abuse. Be it pills, viagra, fast food, any food, any drink, exercise, etc.
The mantra by the wine community is "in moderation" and this entire question becomes irrelevant.
