Which green tea is it?!

Question:

Which green tea is it?

I had a good friend who was from Japan that served a really light green colored green tea. Lately I have been trying to find it. But the green teas I buy keep coming out brown no matter if I brew, micro, or soak it. Is there a certain brand or am I making it wrong?

Answers:
Are you talking about matcha, powdered green tea?

Japanese Green Tea comes in powder form or sachet form. You simply add hot water to it.

Try local sushi shops. Some sell Green Tea Powder.

Chinese green tea comes in leaf form and brews darker.

Try Japanese green tea. You can but it at costco or heath food stores. It comes out green when you brew it. I love this tea. I drink it all the time

No clue as to what you are buying. I buy a couple different brands and soak the tea bags, all light green.

I ate at a Japanese restaurant recently and loved their green tea. I asked what kind it was and the waiter brought me a tea bag with the name Sencha on it. I vaguely remember reading something about it, so I think that's what you might be looking for. Good luck.

i have a sample from teacuppa before it's called sencha..i brew it and got a light yellowish green liquor? maybe you looking for sencha?
