Boldest Coffee?!

Question:

Boldest Coffee?

For Fathers day. I want to get my dad a blend/brand that will knock him backwards. Anyone who answers with Starbucks gets an automatic down vote.

Answers:
I am not sure what is meant by boldest here. But if you mean, coffee with a good body, Indonesian coffee is a good bet. It is what I drink daily.

If able, look our for Mandheling or Sulawesi and it should be roasted medium to dark for its optimum flavor.

Brew it with a brewer, grinding it to the size for the coffee machine used.

Gloria Jean's Coffee - French Roast or Espresso Whole Beans!

You might try mixing two blends. I use French Roast and French Vanilla coffees - mixed on a 1 to 1 basis.
I have found that store blended coffee's have too much flavor. But by cutting the blend with regular coffee, you can adjust to your taste. I've found that the 1 to 1 basis is good for my tastes, but if you want a stronger flavor you might try a different mix. Be sure to use a full tablespoon of grounds per cup of cold water. Don't stint on the grounds. You will make it too weak.

any columbian or french roast will be bolder than the others, but I recommend:
Caribou coffee
Java City
Tully's Coffee
Eight O' Clock
Peet's
Seattle's Best

All are very good, and none are Starbuck's!

See if they have Turkish coffee. It is so strong because they grind the coffee beans to dust, bring to boil 2-3 times then serve, coffee grind and all.
