I drink just plain tea with two packets of sugar. Is that better than a diet coke? I am trying to kick soda all together and am trying to find something different rather than water and juice, which I have been drinking more of that too.

A regular can of cola has about 10 teaspoons of sugar and sugar substitutes such as aspartame aren't much better. Aspartame has been coined the new crack because it is addicting. All carbonated drinks block calcium absorption. On the other hand it has been claimed that green tea has some medicinal properties which improves your immune system and is a catalyst for weight loss. Although dark tea may stain your teeth and have you counting sheep at night, in Boston early colonists threw one hell of a tea party!!!

Tea

Tea

Definitely tea. It at least has some health benefits. Soda has none

What kind of tea vs. what kind of soda?

If you're looking at hot tea with milk and sugar vs. a diet coke........or a cup of green tea vs. a Dr. Pepper, there's a big difference.

tea

tea. soda has bad chemicals in it. soda tatses better tho.!

Definitely tea.... tea tea tea tea tea.. soda is rate poison

I like soda. Tea is to hot and always burns my mouth.

tea, of course

Tea-Green Tea is probably the best and full of antioxidants. However, all teas are better than soda.
Soda-Empty calories, loaded with sugar. Even diet sodas aren't good for you, the latest studies show artifical sweetner isn't good for you.

I would say tea, but depending the tea depending the soda

is that a serious question?

TEA that stuff rocks:)

tea, especially green tea

tea by a long shot, the carbon in the soda expands your stomach and now you can eat more and gain more weight

Usually tea with no sugar in it is better for you, but tea also has caffine in it so the best thing to drink is water.

Tea, it helps soothe you immune system. Soda contains a massive amount of sugar. In a few years, soda bottles will have warning labels on them.

Tea, most likely and then in moderation due to the caffeine

Tea has tannins and is higher in good stuff like Anti-oxidants. Soda is basically pure sugar and acids ( causing tooth decay).

Tea, It fights off sickens. And also flushes water build up from the body.

tea is better but it has way more caffine and it will keep you up all night

Green tea.

Probably the tea. Soda has carbonation, and it is very bad for your teeth.

I think tea is better because it's more natural than the soda!

Tea is.......when you drink soda, it makes your stomach stretch & makes you more hungry, you eat more & you put on weight! So drink tea, good for you & loaded with anti-oxydents!

If the tea is laden with sugar, it's really not much better than soda. If ur talking homemade with natural flavoring, then the answer is of course yes. Soda was never meant to be a means of hydration, it is supposed to be a treat to be relished every once in a while

Tea is nutritionally beneficial for you in comparison towards diet coke, hence the aspartame which replaces sugar. Try cutting down the sugar and the statistics of benefits towards tea rise.

Tea is better. Try to cut the sugar out of it though......you can flavor it with lemon. And fresh brewed is much better than bottled or instant varieties.

Some kind of tea that has antioxidents or other beneficial qualities would probably be better. Another alternative, if you like soda but don't want a lot of soda's negative side effects, is Fresca. Fresca has no caffeine, sugar, etc. and low sodium. I personally like the blackberry flavor.
