"Ozonized" water?!

Question:

"Ozonized" water?

The doctor has told me to cut down on sugar, and so I have been drinking bottled water instead of juice, soda or alcohol. A friend of mine is constantly griping about how most companies put sodium in their water, so I am always careful about reading the ingredients. While I have found plenty of brands of bottled water that have no sodium added, I think all of them contain an ingredient called "ozone".

So, my question is this: What the heck is ozone and why do they put it in my water?

Answers:
Ozone is a contact killer, it kills bacteria in the water so your water is and tastes better.
Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent. It is also unstable at high concentrations, decaying to ordinary diatomic oxygen:

Ozone converts oxides to peroxides:

Ozone reacts with carbon to form carbon dioxide, even at room temperature:

Ozone reacts with sulfides to make sulfates:

Ozone can be used to remove manganese from the water,

Ozone will also completely decompose urea

Ozone does not react with ammonium salts but it reacts with ammonia to form ammonium nitrate:

They use ozone to purify the water.

ozone is not really put in the water it is used to purify the water, passing water through ozone gas can remove bad tastes and sediments. thats one of the big differences between purified bottle water and spring water.
it also may mean that there is ozone gas in the bottle with the water help tasting fresh and clean
