Question:

Should good coffee be a little bitter if it's drank black? Thanks.?

Answers:
There will be a slight acidity to the taste, but good coffee should be smooth and have a slightly chocolately flavor. The taste comes from the quality of the bean and the roast. The less roasting time, the generally more bitter it will be.

espresso is black and bitter, it is a matter of choice

yep. Used to drink it that way. Little sugar and non-dairy creamer will make it taste less bitter but either way is OK for me since I drink it primarily to wake up fast, or to stay alert.

Yes most definitely

Depends on the bean, the grind, the roasting and the brewing. Most coffee does tast bitter that is why I don't like coffee - go tea!!!

Butter no,strong yes.I take a dab of sugar in mine.Cut back a teaspoon at a time,of coffee,til you get a strong taste.Not bitter.Now that's drinking coffee...
