Do the directions on your ground coffee also say to use 2 Tablespoons per 6 oz?!

Question:

Do the directions on your ground coffee also say to use 2 Tablespoons per 6 oz?

my Eight O clock ground coffee package says to use 2 tablespoons per 6 oz of water. I tried this and it was way strong. How much ground coffee do you use per 6 oz? Thanks so much from a coffee newb.

Answers:
I just bought the whole beans and ground them at dominicks. I am looking at the apckage now and it says 1 tablespoon per 6 oz. Maybe they changed the reciepe. Don't know. what I do know is i make 12 cups every morning and use 6 to 6 1/2 tablespoons for the whole pot. not too strong not to weak. again tho it depends on the coffee you but starbucks at that level would probably be too strong. Just cut back until it fits your taste each of us like a different strength to our coffee. Happy brewing.

Hehe well I'd say coffee is an aquired taste so keep trying I use two tablespoons/6 oz too. Try adding a bit more water though because depending on your coffee maker a cetain amount o that 6 oz steams away.

I use about half of that. depends how big a pot you are making.

Just use 1 tablespoon next time

when i make coffee its usually a 12 cup pot and i put in 2 and a 1/2 scoops. i think the scoops are tablespoons and it turns out just perfect.
